How to Invest

Thank you for visiting! A bit about myself: I began performing professionally in 2000 as a saxophonist. A couple of years later, I began performing as a singer and keyboardist as well. With a gift as a saxophonist, vocalist, keyboardist and songwriter, I gained experience in MANY genres, though my favorite leaned more towards r&b/funk/pop. Before surrendering my life to the Lord Jesus in Wisconsin, my last gigs were at Summerfest, opening for Earth, Wind and Fire, and at Jazz in the Park. At the end of 2008, my eyes were opened to the life I was living and promoting, and I devoted my musical gifts to be used for the Lord. I spent several years writing and performing/ministering songs that I wrote. As I grew in knowing the voice of God, I learned that I was called to release various styles of music publicly, not just blatantly Christian songs. A couple of years ago, I was signed with Emerged Music, with the opportunity to release some of these songs, as well as new ones. Emerged Music began with asking me to write a vocal Christmas song to be done with r&b/hip-hop producer Charles “Chizzy” Stephens, then a “middle of the road” saxophone song with film composer Jim Covell. I was then asked to release a “cross over” song with Chizzy. Soon in 2025, a couple of blatantly Christian songs will be released. In addition to being a musician, I am also an ordained minister, passionate to help people learn to literally walk with God.

At the moment, there are three main ways to considering financially investing as it relates to music in my stewardship.

1) Music Equipment (Starting goal, $10k)

At this moment, any “investing” would be as a gift, investing into the Kingdom of God. Anything that is currently released as “Tim Kirsch” must be done in cooperation with Emerged Music with my current contract. I will share below other ways that I will be releasing music. Whether releasing music through Emerged Music, as a guest artist with other recording artists, or through the platforms explained below, my goal is to have professional level equipment to record at home, allowing me the liberty to take time to record the best takes at radio-level quality. This mainly requires a strong computer (that doesn’t get overwhelmed with a loud fan kicking in), a high quality recording interface (such as Apogee or Apollo), possibly a quality pre-amp, high quality microphone(s) fitting for vocals and sax, and a some-what mobile recording booth. I have contacts for discounts on music equipment.

2) In partnership with the label, Emerged Music, as Tim Kirsch:

I am currently on contract with Emerged Music. The role of the label is to facilitate and oversee the funding and production of songs, as well as marketing of the music and myself as an artist.

Any songs released as Tim Kirsch must currently be in cooperation with Emerged Music. Please contact Darrell Ellis if you’d like to discuss investment options.

As Tim Kirsch, I intend to release Christian music, Cross-Over music (such as “Higher Place”), and Smooth Jazz, with a heart to be witness and connect the lost to Jesus, and build up the Redeemed. When I “perform”, I minister.

For perspective, I will include approximate prices for the music production, as well as potential producers. I’m intentionally not publicly sharing their names as their costs was personal to me or Emerged Music.

Smooth Jazz: I reached out to a producer and recording artist who is at the top of the bill board charts for Smooth Jazz. He expressed interest in doing a whole album together. There is a particular Smooth Jazz song that I’ve heard the Lord tell me to work on. Out of 3 rough-sample songs shared with this producer, this was his favorite. He believes this song could be played on Sirius XM’s smooth jazz station. The total cost for him to produce, mix and master, plus pay the same musicians he uses on his recordings is about $3k/song.

Modern/Hip-Hop Style Christian and/or Crossover music: There is a producer who has worked with Grammy award-winning musicians. There is also a producer I reached out to who has worked with Dante Bowie and Bethel who has expressed strong interest in a particular song my wife helped me write. They are both around $3-4k/song.

Contemporary Christian Music: I am praying to meet the right producer for CCM, whether for songs as “Tim Kirsch” or with a worship team collective (details below), to target contemporary Christian radio.

Saxophone Worship Music:

Instrumental worship music seems relevant to more people with recognizable melodies. I would like to release albums just for this. Part of the profit does go to whoever owns the rights to the originals.

3) Other avenues of music.

I am praying to meet someone who can help me discover the best legal avenues as it relates to various business and ministry ideas. This relates to ideas such as the following. I can share more details privately. Once I have my own recording equipment, some of this could possibly be done with friends that would be willing to be paid on the back end with royalties. At this time, until a corporation or such is built, I imagine that investors would be granted a percent of return on a song-to-song basis as a joint publisher.

Worship Team Collective:

I have very gifted friends interested in releasing songs together. The idea with a collective is that the members can change through the seasons, and as a team, they can support one another. I have songs that I imagine better fitting with other singers, such as with this collective. I can share about about the group name and talent interested, privately.

Holy Spa Music:

The idea is relaxation music for personal use, as well as for wellness places. Many songs played in wellness places are contaminated as many of the song writers are deceived spiritually. I love the idea of holy relaxation music. Here is a brief example. Soon after buying a used laptop, I was asked to write background music (using public domain songs) for a Resurrection Video the Hollywood Prayer Network wanted to release with various voice actors. It was a good to have to learn some basic recording software very quickly, and required (as I always want) the leading of the Holy Spirit, as I did not have the actors recordings to match the music to. My idea is to do something similar to this, but including real string players who have already expressed interest. I can share about about the talent interested, privately.

Gypsy Collective:

"Gypsy" is English word that the Romani-speaking people use. The idea is a worship collective that crosses the boarders of their churches, in working together. My involvement would be as a facilitator/executive producer, partial songwriter, keyboardist and saxophonist. I can share about about the group name and talent interested, privately.
